Record a site survey

What this does

Captures the real opening sizes on site, per position, before anything is cut — the measurement of record for the whole order.

Before you start

  • The quotation lists every opening as its own line.

Steps

  1. 01
    Open the survey for the order and visit the site.
  2. 02
    Measure each opening — width and height in several places, take the smallest.
  3. 03
    Photograph each opening and note obstructions.
  4. 04
    Submit the survey for approval — approved sizes flow back to the drawings.

Common mistakes

  • Measuring once per opening — walls are never square; a single measurement hides the tight corner that will not fit.
