Optimize profile cutting

What this does

Arranges the cuts across stock bars to minimise waste, and tells you how many bars each profile needs.

Before you start

  • The cutting list is generated.

Steps

  1. 01
    Open the optimization for your cutting batch.
  2. 02
    Check the stock bar length per profile — it defaults from the product.
  3. 03
    Run the optimization and review the waste percentage.
  4. 04
    Print the bar-by-bar plan for the saw operator.

Common mistakes

  • Optimizing orders one by one — waste drops sharply when several orders of the same profile and colour are cut as one batch.
