What this does

A company in WindoorERP is one business entity: its own legal identity, its own books, its own settings. A branch is a subdivision of one — a regional office or a second factory — that shares the parent's accounting.

Steps

The same list is reachable from Settings › Users & Companies › Companies. Which general-information fields you see depends on the fiscal localization installed.

  1. 01
Open the Settings app, go to the Companies section and click Manage Companies.
  2. 02
Click New and fill in Company Name, Address, Tax ID, LEI, Company ID, Currency, Phone, Mobile, Email, Website, Email Domain and Color.
  3. 03
Upload the company logo — it is what appears on every quotation and invoice you print.
  4. 04
    Save.
  5. 05
Add the users who work for this company and set their access rights.
  6. 06
Configure the document layout so printed documents carry the right branding.

Create a branch

  1. Create the parent company first — always.
  2. Open the parent company's form from Manage Companies.
  3. On the Branches tab, click Add a line and fill in the branch's own details in the Create Branches window.
  4. To build a deeper structure, add branches to a branch the same way.

Each branch keeps its own address and logo but inherits the parent's accounting. Everything else — pricelists, warehouses, loyalty programmes — is configured per branch.

How records behave

  • Selecting the parent company automatically includes all of its branches; selecting a branch shows that branch alone. Switch with the company selector in the top bar.
  • Quotations, invoices and vendor bills belong to whichever entity was active when they were created, and are only visible from it.
  • Products and contacts are shared across the parent and its branches by default; restrict one to a single entity by filling its Company field.
  • Reports can be run for the parent alone or with its branches, depending on the user's access.

Common mistakes

  • Creating an independent subsidiary as a branch. Separate legal entities are separate companies; branches share the parent's books.
  • Deciding the structure later. A company defined as a parent cannot be turned into a branch afterwards without access-rights trouble — map the hierarchy before you create anything.
  • Forgetting that adding a branch switches the database into multi-company behaviour, with all the record visibility rules that follow.
